Classification in NZ

Who classifies media content in NZ?

The Office of Film and Literature Classification and the Broadcasting Standards Authority are statutory regulators under their respective regimes. New Zealand's content regulatory system seeks to prevent harm from exposure to damaging or illegal content.

What issues do the classification board have to consider?

Under the current National Classification Scheme (NCS) there are six Classifiable Elements which are considered when making classification decisions: Themes, Violence, Sex, Language, Drug Use and Nudity.
