Music Video Research
PHOTOGRAPH:
This music video displays a lot of aspects where it does look like an advanced professional music video. The idea of having an old man in the beginning holding a photograph which is then edited into a whole memory of his younger self and what looked to be either his girlfriend or wife really caught my attention. As it switches through both point of views of the elderly man now and of him back when he was young, it sends emotions of sadness to the audience watching. His memory jogs back and just shows a lot of him spending time with his loved one, but when it switches back to him currently, it shows how lonely he is at times. I really liked how each camera angle the camera would change to, it would still show a lot of what is happening in the video.
LAST I HEARD:
In this music video, my most favorite part out of the entire video was the introduction where the camera view was coming from the top, similar to a bird's eye view. I liked how the camera was spinning slowly while kind of in a way, falling into the girl lying down. The setting and props they used in this video really brought out the emotions of this song. I liked how most of the video was in slow motion but it was still very clear to watch.
TEAM:
This is a music video I came across on YouTube while searching for media studies A2 music videos. I really like this video, the presentation itself and the type of camera they used and the filters. I liked how the whole music video was slowed down but it still matched the song's pace. The type of vibe the people in the music video were bringing suits the song so well. The color scheme and camera quality was what caught my attention most of the time. I was impressed by how well the actors in the video were acting, some other A2 music videos I have seen didn't have really good actors but this music video really felt like I was watching a real professional music video. This music video was graded an A*
